About
Oliver Schilke is a multidisciplinary artist, AV technician, and creative researcher based in London. With an MA in Computational Arts from Goldsmiths, University of London, his practice is driven by a deep fascination with the intersections between technology, ecology, and interactive art.
Oliver's expertise spans immersive audiovisual environments, projection mapping, interactive sculptures, generative visuals, experimental sound design, and digital media. His innovative approach combines advanced technical skills—such as programming in openFrameworks (C++), TouchDesigner, Max/MSP, Blender, Houdini, and utilizing tools like Pixera, QLab, and MadMapper—with artistic experimentation. His work frequently addresses ecological consciousness, human-environment interactions, and explores interactive and responsive aesthetics.
His portfolio includes impactful projects like "Erode," shortlisted for the Lumen Prize, which utilized complex generative visuals to depict human impact on geological landscapes. Another notable project, "Meshed," explores interactive real-time media environments through immersive ambisonic soundscapes.
Professionally, Oliver has significantly contributed to prominent immersive experiences at Frameless London, developing and synchronizing comprehensive AV systems and designing robust technical infrastructures for large-scale installations. Additionally, he has created bespoke visual systems for niche performances in the UK, Georgia, and Lithuania, integrating both cutting-edge and circuit-bent technologies for uniquely textured visual experiences.
Through his dynamic blend of technical proficiency and creative exploration, Oliver continually seeks new ways to engage, inspire, and provoke thought, creating powerful interactive experiences that resonate deeply with diverse audiences.
